Asian Hockey Federation

The Asian Hockey Federation is the governing body for the sport of field hockey in Asia. It now has 30 member associations. It is affiliated to the International Hockey Federation (FIH). The current president is Sultan Azlan Shah.

Bangladesh Hockey Federation - BHF was founded in 1972. The federation acquired full membership of the International Hockey Federation and of the Asian Hockey Federation in 1975. In 1987, a hockey stadium was built in Dhaka, which is now known as the Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium.

Modern field hockey started in China in the mid-1970s. In 1975 China sent four coaches to Pakistan on a tour of observation. In the summer of 1976, the sport began to develop in Beijing and Heilongjiang Province.

Hong Kong finished the 2nd Women's Asian Challenge winning Bronze Medal - a well-earned reward for their tournament debut. Playing Brunei a second time in the tournament, Hong Kong scored 2 goals in the first half and 2 more in the second half, claiming the bronze medal with a straight forward 4-0.

ISCI Hockey Jakarta has been active for around 25 years and is a very socially inclined club which allows many people (a mixture of locals, expatriates, blow-ins and heavy drinkers) to play field hockey in Jakarta. 'Training' and games are held at Gelora Bung Karno (Senayan) water-based artificial turf pitch every Wednesday night (from 8pm) and Saturday afternoon (from 4pm), mostly by way of organized or scratch games which are usually full pitch, but can be 5-a-side, depending on who turns up to fill the void called 'opposition'.

Japan Hockey Association is Japan Hockey sanctioning body. The Mission is to prevail Hockey among Japanese nations and contribute to the development of nation's health and mind.

Sports Bureau (the 'Bureau') is a bureau-level public department with administrative autonomy. With a remit to instruct, encourage, assist and promote physical education and sports development, the Bureau is dedicated to creating essential conditions for sports development whilst liaising with sports associations and relevant personnel.

The earliest record of Hockey being played in Singapore was in 1902 when the Royal Engineers introduced the game on the field of the Singapore Recreation Club. The Singapore Hockey Association was formed and registered with the Registrar of Societies on 8th July 1931. At the time the Association was affiliated with the English Hockey Association.
