The Alaskan Malamute is a large spitz-type dog, weighing up to 85 pounds. They resemble the Siberian Husky but are more stout-bodied, with thicker fur, smaller ears, wider heads and a more laid-back personality. They are usually white with gray, sable, black or red markings and curled tails.
